Types of Properties
As many cultures, religions, and preferences, so are the options.
Did you know that….
- Caskets can be placed above ground (mausoleum) or below ground (burial)
- Cremated remains can be buried, above ground in niches, in visible
glass niches, benches or monuments.
- Caskets may include an urn with the cremated remains of a loved one.
The options are many. Contact one of our counselors for special needs and arrangements.
The mausoleums at Green Hills Memorial Park are free-standing, above ground structures that contains several caskets within a wall setting. Mausoleums can be in an open/exterior environment, or indoors in highly decorated buildings. They include individual name Markers. Some families purchase a number at close proximity to create a special group setting.
Some examples of famous mausoleums may include the Taj Mahal in India, The Higashi Otani Mausoleum in Japan, or the Muhammad Ali Jinnah Mausoleum in Pakistan.
Niches are small compartments designed to accommodate urns containing cremated remains. The fronts can be granite, marble, bronze, wood or glass. Depending on the location of the niche, it may have an open front protected by glass where the urn remains visible, or a closed-front faced with granite or marble where an inscription is placed on the niche front. A vase may be placed on some closed-front niches for the placement of flowers.
