Joanne Fruth’s path to become an Advanced Planning Counselor for Green Hills Memorial Park has been a turbulent one. As a youth, Joanne lost a 21 year old brother in a plane crash and then another brother at the young age of 37. Years later, her mother went into the hospital for a routine surgery and unexpectedly died at the age of seventy.

Most people would use one of these tragedies as an excuse for becoming pessimistic or to give up…but not Joanne!  Joanne has never met a day she couldn’t enlighten with her cheerful spirit. She has the uncanny ability to take a morbid subject like advanced planning and turn it into a positive upbeat experience for all of her families.

Joanne’s difficult journey eventually lead to a career in advanced planning because of a commonality present in each of her horrible tragedies. None of the final arrangements had been secured in advance for any of the unplanned deaths and consequentially, Joanne’s family was burdened with the financial and emotional responsibility that often accompanies an unplanned death in the family. Because of her difficult experiences, Joanne is passionate about educating families on the wisdom and ease of making these necessary arrangements in advance of need.

When Joanne is away from Green Hills Memorial Park, she loves spending time with her husband and teenage daughter. Joanne has also worked as a teacher’s aide for the deaf and worked for several years in the food service industry.

Angela Presley is a faithful resident of Southern California and after an eight year job assignment in Baltimore Maryland, she felt it was time to return to her home in sunny California.
As a teenager growing up in California, Angela experienced the death of a close personal friend at a very early age. It was at this time that Angela became intimately familiar with the undue stress and anxiety an unplanned death can have on a family.

With over ten years of customer service experience and five years in Consumer and Business banking, Angela understands the true value that an investment today can have on the future and is excited about the opportunities she is able to offer in pre-planning cemetery arrangements for her families here at Green Hills Memorial Park.

After witnessing the horrible misfortune an untimely death can bring on a family, Angela has worked with her own grandparents and parents on advanced planning and would like to offer her assistance in eliminating this burden on your family as well.

Ann Stemmer has been assisting families in advanced planning for over eight years. When Ann lost her children’s father to cancer in 2007, she witnessed first-hand how much easier it was for her family to plan his services in advance and prepare her children prior to his death.

In 2015, Ann was again heartbroken after losing her father that she had forged an amazing relationship with for 55 years. Ann and her four siblings were thankful to be at their father’s bedside when he passed and all of them were greatly relieved to learn that their father had previously taken care of all his cemetery arrangements years before his passing. She and her siblings were so thankful to their father for leaving them this one last gift of love and for not burdening them with the tremendous emotional stress that often accompanies the unplanned passing of a loved one.

From her personal experiences, Ann has found a passion in assisting families in advanced planning. She understands that although this inevitable situation is both heartbreaking and confusing; discussing it beforehand and advanced planning is truly a gift of love.

Ann is the mother of three children, two of which are special needs and she has been an enthusiastic fan of the Special Olympics Summer Games in Southern California. Ann is most proud of her youngest son, Andy, who is currently a 10 time gold medalist.

Bonnie Anderson-Bezart is known fondly by her friends and family as “The Giver”. She is honest and trustworthy, and has the ability to listen with understanding. These are qualities that have helped Bonnie serve the South Bay Community for over forty years. She spends her free-time volunteering throughout our community and has spent countless hours chairing, and organizing fundraising events for various non-profit organizations. Her career as a banker in the South Bay lasted as long as most people would stay and retire. After separating from the banking industry, she found her true passion in serving others through Green Hills Memorial Park. She has been a part of the team for more than 14 years as a veteran Family Service Counselor.

Raised in Torrance, as Bonnie (Hunter), she has lived in Redondo Beach with her husband since 1975. They have three children, two grandchildren and love baseball and college football.

Her own personal experience of losing her mother & father at an early age has given her the wisdom and compassion to assist those in their time of need, as she was left to deal with their arrangements on her own. In addition to that, she lost her sister, who was her best friend, which devastated her.  Because of her personal experiences, she is committed to educating the community on the giving the gift of pre-arranging.

She is committed to our community and looks forward to serving you and your family.

My path that led me to a career of protecting families began at an extremely early age. At the tender age of 15, I had the dubious honor of assisting my family secure funeral arrangements for my grandmother. It was at this age, that I witnessed the difficult financial and emotional stress an unplanned passing can afflict on the well-being of a family. After the service was over, I was surprised to be contacted by the owner of the funeral home, who asked me to come work with him. It was here that I launched my lifelong career where I interned with that mortuary until I moved west to California two year later.

For the last 30 years, I have dedicated my life to assisting families in planning their final arrangements, both at the time of need and through advance planning.
During the year 2000, my immediate family was blindsided with five deaths that occurred in the period of 11 months. At this time, I did some soul searching to decide how I can make a bigger impact with my life and I left a mortuary career of 15 years to work at Green Hills Memorial Park as a Family Service Counselor. My choice in moving to Green Hills was an easy one, in that after working with them on a professional level for years, I knew that their quality of care for their families, matched my own.

Since joining Green Hills Memorial Park, I have always strived to extend to my families a compassionate, informative process in assisting both in making at-need and advanced planning arrangements.

I have been married for 20 years and living in Los Angeles County for 19 years. My husband and I serve currently on the Board of Trustees for The Aquarium of the Pacific and are proud charter members
